This ad is a flop, all due respect. If it were done in the 50s, maybe it would have been a success. But everyone knew what Pan Am was in the 80s, knew they were about good service, good food, complementary beverages. TWA had a more substantial ad in the 80s, underscored with the tagline, "Leading the way, TWA."

TWA and Pan Am stood out as US flag carriers in the airline industry in the '70s and '80s. After Pan Am went under, the only US carrier I'd consider flying abroad was TWA...(and which I'd beg for domestically). The Airline Deregulation Act of 1978 was a travesty that needs to be repealed...and maybe airlines like TWA could be reincarnated with efficiency and service to match the name.
